Angelorum Prayer Request

Please pray for a woman in her 30s, who called Angelorum and who is worried she is pregnant. She was so worried I asked her if we could pray for her and she said yes. She doesn't know what she is going to do. Thank you.

Prayer Request

This e-mail is from a former YFL member. Please keep this family in your prayers.

Last Wednesday my family got the exciting news that my brother and sister-in-law are expecting identical twin boys.  But one of the twins, Gabriel, is acardiac, which means he is really underdeveloped and, as far as they can see from the last ultrasound, doesn't have a heart.  But the twins' blood flow is connected and right now little Gabriel's brother, Patrick, is keeping him alive.  Doctors have said that little Gabriel has no chance and that Patrick is at risk for heart failure because right now his heart is beating for two.  My family is devastated, but not without hope.

[The parents] are awesome Catholics and have gotten great pro-life advice from some wonderful doctors, but the solution is still undecided and ultimately in God's hands.  And God's will be done, but I'm definitely letting Him know what I want and praying my heart out for a miracle for both of my beautiful little nephews. [They're] going in for another ultrasound this Tuesday and my family is praying a novena to Bl. Stanislaus (one of the miracles leading to his beatification was a little unborn baby regaining his heartbeat and being born healthy after ultrasounds showed that his mom had miscarried).

Gabriel and Patrick are the first grandkids for my parents, and I promised my brother that I will be the best aunt they could ever have.  I'm praying so, so hard and am asking for your prayers, too.  Little Gabriel, Patrick and [their parents] really need them.

Prayer Request

Along with the prayer request from Angelorum below, please pray for a
girl who is a friend of friend of a YFL member. She was planning on
having an abortion and her parents don't yet know that she's pregnant.
Please pray that she chooses life. Thank you!

Angelorum: Prayer for a client

Hi Everyone,

I am asking for prayer for a 17 yr old that had a positive pregnancy
test this afternoon. She said her boyfriend is really pressuring her
into having an abortion. They have a two year old son together
already. She has an appointment for an ultrasound at 11am on
Wednesday at Life Choices and I spoke with her at length about the
agencies that will provide help during and after the baby is born. In
fact, today I was able to give them all kinds of things they needed
for their son, including one of the Easter baskets from Holy Rosary in
Edmonds. This generosity shocked both of them! She is in favor of
adoption but her boyfriend said he would rather she had an abortion
because he doesn't want someone else to raise his baby. She is a
Mormon and he is a Catholic! This client really does not want to have
an abortion but out of desperation, late this afternoon she called me
and asked me if I would take her to the hospital so they could just
take the baby now. I spent more time with both of them and they both
agreed that they would wait until the ultrasound so they knew how far
along the baby is and then they would decide what to do. There were
lots of tears pouring out of both of these parents today, me too when
it was safe.

Please, everyone, your prayers are powerful. Let's pray for our
Lord's intercession on behalf of this little life.

Prayer Request from the West-Sound Rachel's Vineyard Team

I know this is late notice on this prayer request, but please pray for this retreat, even if you can't say the whole novena.

We will be eternally grateful if you will begin praying this novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe for the upcoming Rachel's Vineyard retreat, Feb. 22-24.

God bless you,
The West-Sound Rachel's Vineyard team

Dearest Lady of Guadalupe, Mother of the True God, Fruitful Mother of Holiness, teach us your ways of gentleness and strength.

O Mary, you are the daughter of God the Father, Who is the Source of all mercy, love, and healing.

Help all those who have had abortions to trust that He desires to heal them even more than they desire it themselves.

Intercede for them, that the Holy Spirit will open their hearts to receive His healing presence.

Through your intercession, O Blessed and Glorious Virgin Mary, Mother of all tenderness and our Mother, strengthen their faith in Him.

O Lady of Guadalupe, hear our humble prayer, offered with heartfelt confidence.

We beg you to intercede for this favor:  that the Holy Spirit will descend upon all Rachel's Vineyard retreats, especially this one, that all those

participating will experience true joy and the peace that surpasses all understanding.

Our Lady of Guadalupe, Protectress of the Unborn, pray for us!  Amen.

Youth's Prayer for Fortitude

O Holy Spirit who descended upon the twelve as they stood in anxiety, come unto me in my youthful endeavors.  Banish from my heart all timidity and false pride; strengthen my soul to avoid all sin, to practice virtue, and to prefer ridicule to the denial of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  Let not the goodness of purity, obedience and charity be obscured in the face of adversity.  Instill in me the virtue of Fortitude so that I may courageously profess and practice my holy Catholic faith.  Open my eyes, O Holy Spirit, that I may recognize my state in life.  Give me the confidence to embrace it and the strength to live it as a son of God.  I pray that Your guidance, protection and consolation may be with me now and throughout my life.  Amen.

Clients of Angelorum

This is the message received today:

Please pray for an abortion minded client that came to Angelorum with
her boyfriend and simply said she can not have a baby at this time.
She left our office in a hurry and I am really praying she will come
back to talk some more.

Also, one of our return clients is due in two days and she was just
here and requested we pray for her delivery and healthy baby.

Also, one of our clients that is about 4 months along now is having
some major medical problems and on the 25th she is going to the
hospital for an operation and the doctors told her it was her life or
the baby's life. She is so upset. It is really devastating to her
and her boyfriend. They find little comfort in the fact that they are
both young enough to have another baby. I am so sad about this. I
have been working with this couple from the beginning.

Also, a young client that has a history of running away and had
warrants out on her and then became pregnant, a very complicated case
to say the least. The family has been working towards reconciliation
and bonding and the client was arrested and while in detention, she
had a miscarriage. It is a very hard time for this family, so please
pray for them also.

It's so comforting to know that we have so many prayers being said for
these women and families. Thank you so much, you are all in our
prayers also.

Two Prayer Requests from Angelorum

These were sent out on January 8.

- - -

Please pray for an Angelorum client who didn't want an abortion, but
whose mother did want her to have an abortion. If the situation has
not been resolved, please pray that the baby lives and the mother and
daughter can reconcile their differences.

- - -

Please pray for another mother and daughter. The daughter is (was?)
pregnant, did not want an abortion, but would not follow through on
any appointments with doctors or Angelorum. She is in trouble in many
ways, and her mother is very worried about her. Please pray for this
girl, her baby, and her mother that God will heal the girl, help her
deliver a healthy baby, and bring peace to her mother.

Prayer Request from Angelorum

I just had a very sweet 20 yr old girl come in with her boyfriend and
the pregnancy test was positive. They are both Christians and against
abortion. He would like to go the adoption route, she said she could
never give her baby up for adoption. They were both very emotional
and feeling very scared. They have an appointment for an ultrasound
at Life Choices next week to confirm it is a viable pregnancy. Please
pray that they will let our Lord guide them on this journey and that
they will make the right decision as a couple for their baby.

Also, everyone, I would like to request prayer for [a pro-life friend]
as she is recovering from shoulder surgery. Please pray for a
complete, speedy recovery.

Prayer Request

Please pray for a faithful pro-lifer who is currently sick with
lukemia and on life support. He has prayed and sidewalk counseled at
abortion mills for more than 20 years and recovery does not look like
a possibility. Please pray for this man and his wife. He has been a
tremendous blessing! Thanks.

Babies!

If you were not at the YFL meeting last night, we, as a group, spiritually adopted 5 unborn children. We will pray for them for the next 9 months (40 weeks) using the spiritual adoption prayer written by Archbishop Fulton Sheen.* The cool thing is, we have a "pregnancy ticker" posted on the blog (scroll down and look at the sidebar), to keep track of the babies' development. If you click on the days listed underneath the "womb", the numbers will change to show how many weeks and days the babies have been in the womb and how many until they are born. The babies' names, chosen by YFLers, are listed below the ticker. If you're not a part of YFL, you can still pray along with us and watch the babies grow!

*Spiritual Adoption prayer by Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph,
I love you very much.
I beg you to spare the life/lives
of the unborn child/ren
I have spiritually adopted
who is/are in danger of abortion.

(Optional addition: Please protect (baby's name) and his/her mother.)

Prayer Request from Angelorum

Dear Angels of Angelorum,

I had a phone call this afternoon from a Sister in Seattle that has been working with a parishioner who is 9 weeks pregnant with her second child and having a real difficult time – she has been in and out of the hospital a few times already because she can’t eat or drink and she is getting dehydrated. She has been prescribed some very expensive medicine ($1800 a month) and prior to getting in touch with Sister, was scheduled for an abortion and went to the appointment but she was crying so much she knew she couldn’t go through with it. There is an option for some generic medication from Canada for about $358 for a month supply. Please pray for this family and for the miracle they are expecting.

URGENT PRAYER REQUEST

One of our members just sent this e-mail in. Please pray for this mother and baby!
Hi everyone,
One of my co-workers told me today that she is seven weeks pregnant and will be having an abortion on Friday. She was fairly open to talking about it with me, but she also seems pretty hardened and determined to having her baby killed. One of the things that I found to be rather disturbing is that she didn't seem to shy away from the idea that she is killing her baby. She admitted that she knew it was wrong, but told me that her mom told her to "be selfish".
I don't know if I will be seeing her again before Friday, but even if I do, I' not sure that I can say anything that I haven't already said that might change her mind. She and her baby really need your prayers. Please forward this to anyone that you know who will pray too.
Thank you!

Urgent Prayer Request

From an e-mail just received:

Please storm heaven for a child who is in danger of abortion. The appointment for the abortion is scheduled for Tuesday, May 29th. Pray especially for those who are providing support to the baby's mother right now, that their words be straight from God's own heart. And pray that Baby's Mom be open to the actions of Divine Providence at this conflicting and difficult time for her. Baby's Father is currently unable to provide support, due to his chemical addiction. He could use your prayers as well. Baby's Grandmother [Baby's Mom's Mom] wants her Grandchild to live. Pray for Gramma. And there are two siblings, ages 2 and 7 mos. Keep them in your prayers as well.

Another Answered Prayer!

Thank you so much for praying for the prayer request below! The woman did not have an abortion, though there is a sad ending to the story. Here's the e-mail from her anonymous friend telling why she changed her mind.

"Thank you SO much for all of your prayers and for spreading the word…

Well, she did decide to go see her doctor again and have a sonogram before “the procedure”. The sonogram and blood tests concluded that the pregnancy should have been 8 weeks gestation, but the baby was only at 5 weeks and 5 days and there was not a heartbeat. She cried at the sight of the baby on the screen and was thankful that she had the sonogram before anything else. Her doctor told her it was best for her to let nature take its course. She still has not miscarried. Thank you so much for the prayers! So many have responded and I’ve told her that there are so many people praying for her. She is not a Christian, but she is really amazed by the care and concern from strangers. What a great example and testament of Christian love!"

Please pray now for the comfort of this woman who has just lost her child.

Prayer Request

This request just in from an anonymous person.

"Please
pray for my neighbor and her unborn baby. She is married and has a 2 year old daughter. Her husband's insurance doesn't cover childbirth and her husband has pressured her into having an abortion! She is distraught about it, but is going to do it anyway. The baby is about 8 weeks gestation and she will be going in tomorrow (Friday, May 11) morning."

Please pray for this woman, her husband, and the soul of their unborn child that they can find the financial help they need.

Prayer Request

The parents of an unborn child have decided to abort after learning that he/she has a severe brain disorder. Please pray that they will change their minds. If they have already had the abortion, pray that they find forgiveness and healing and for the repose of the baby's soul.

Don't forget - Nine Week Novena for Elections!

November 7 is Election Day in the United States. Priests for Life again calls on all Christians to join in a Double Novena of Weeks – two periods of nine weeks of prayer, starting on the Fourth of July and concluding on Election Day.

The intentions for this Prayer Campaign are as follows:
1. That believers will be active citizens, will register to vote, and will cast their votes in the 2006 Elections.
2. That voters will base their choices on principle rather than on mere party loyalty or self-interest, keeping in mind that the first duty of government is the protection of human life.
3. That as a result of this year’s elections, our nation may come closer to embracing a Culture of Life, in which the unborn and all the vulnerable are protected.

A Prayer for our National Elections

O God, we acknowledge you today as Lord, Not only of individuals, but of nations and governments.
We thank you for the privilege Of being able to organize ourselves politically And of knowing that political loyalty Does not have to mean disloyalty to you.
We thank you for your law, Which our Founding Fathers acknowledged And recognized as higher than any human law.
We thank you for the opportunity that this election year puts before us, To exercise our solemn duty not only to vote, But to influence countless others to vote, And to vote correctly.
Lord, we pray that your people may be awakened. Let them realize that while politics is not their salvation, Their response to you requires that they be politically active.
Awaken your people to know that they are not called to be a sect fleeing the world But rather a community of faith renewing the world.
Awaken them that the same hands lifted up to you in prayer Are the hands that pull the lever in the voting booth; That the same eyes that read your Word Are the eyes that read the names on the ballot, And that they do not cease to be Christians When they enter the voting booth.
Awaken your people to a commitment to justice To the sanctity of marriage and the family, To the dignity of each individual human life, And to the truth that human rights begin when human lives begin, And not one moment later.
Lord, we rejoice today That we are citizens of your kingdom.
May that make us all the more committed To being faithful citizens on earth.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
